Let me give you a quick example. If you want to clear the fence you can aim for the space just above the fence or you can aim for the moon. If you fall short from the moon you will still at least clear the tree tops…on the other hand if you aim for the space above the fence and you fall short, you’ll definitely have something to remember.

Many people are scared to take big action because they are afraid of two things:

1. Making A Mistake

Big action takers very often make mistakes too. The only difference is that each mistake they make is a way for them of finding out how not to do something. They keep on making mistakes until they find the way that works and then the sky is the limit. They own something very powerful once they perfect their trade.

They will keep on refining the art of being the absolute best they can be at being a master prospector. I want you to seriously think about how you see mistakes. Don’t be afraid of taking big action and making mistakes. Learn from your mistakes and keep on taking bigger action all the time.

2. Fear Of Succeeding

This might sound funny but I have seen people with huge potential end up with nothing but disappointment. You see the moment you start to fear success, you have a great excuse not to take action.

You unconsciously make sure that you do things to sabotage your own success because then you can succeed at being unsuccessful. This way you never have to take responsibility for sitting on your assets…

There are thousands of tips and techniques on being successful in building a huge network marketing or mlm business BUT if you don’t take massive action you will never succeed!

The first thing you need to do is to decide what type of product you want to sell and what audience do you mainly want to sell to. For example, if you plan on selling beauty products, your target audience will be women.

This may be difficult to do if you don’t know where to start. The first people to ask are your friends and family. You may want to create a blog to advertise your business.

When you blog, write about the product, such as its benefits. You can post your blog on forums that you visit on a regular basis. You may want to sign up for Google Adswords. With Google Adwords, you can come up with keywords pertaining to your business or product. When people search those particular keywords, your link will come up. In order for people to click on your link, you may want to be creative. For instance, you can tell them that they’ll receive 10 percent off of the product just for signing up as a seller.

Don’t Chase Prospects. If you use the systems that your leader provides for you, they will come to you (they aren’t chasing me because I’m not running from them…just waiting for them to ask for guidance). When you chase prospects or the “Tire Kickers” as you’ll hear them called you take your eye off the ball which is your team, your business and your future.

Is one prospect worth that to you, it’s not for me. If there is a prospect or somebody on your team who asks for help but then does not follow through you can not derail your plan and team to chase them down. You can only help those people who deserve the help not just the ones who want the help, if people put in the effort they are worthy of your help. When you chase the prospects and neglect your team, the team will get uneasy and question your leadership.

Don’t get me wrong… you don’t have to be generation “internet” to get some simple tasks accomplished and generate leads, but yes, you absolutely will need an online network marketing system that will work for you.

In order to best help you understand why a system is so vital to your success, consider what your business (or any business for that matter) would be without a system and without processes defined clearly and procedures in place to handle each of the processes. It would be chaotic, confusing and most of all, ineffective.

Let’s take the alternative of that which is an effective system designed specifically to do most of the “heavy lifting” for you. What I consider an “ideal” online network marketing system would need to include the following:

1. A Lead Capture page with one and only one purpose: To collect the name and email of a prospect. This may be done by giving away some sort of free product (think ebook or “free report”) or possibly even detailed information about the products or system that people would be getting into once they committed to join your organization.

2. Another page designed to elaborate on the product, create a sense of urgency, create the desire to own the product or system and of course the main benefits of owning this product (whatever that product may be).

3. A “Funded Proposal” product or application. Something specifically designed to weed out the “tire kickers” or “lookie-lous”. Let’s admit that no matter your opportunity, there are a lot of people that simply don’t qualify and aren’t worth your time pursuing as potential business partners.

This product should separate those that are serious about this opportunity from those that aren’t very serious. This funded proposal system should have a price point of around $20 – $70. Ideally, somewhere around $50 or less. This variable can be tested. Let’s face it, if the prospect isn’t willing to spend $50, what makes you think they’ll ever dedicate the time, effort, and marketing budget required to succeed with this system of yours??

4. A method of notifying you of the progress along the way that your prospects take from being prospects, to becoming leads (i.e. providing you with their name and email address) to becoming purchases (at least of the funded proposal product) and then eventually business owners along with you.

This method of communicating with you would most likely be email notifications, but some sort of statistics package built into the system will help greatly for you to know which of your marketing methods are producing the best results (search marketing, search engine optimization, free classified sites, article marketing, or social networking, etc.)

5. Tracking. As I just eluded to, you should have a method of tracking the results. Google Analytics works well, other options may include Hypertracker or the system itself may have very specific reporting capabilities built into the system itself.

As you can see from this brief outline, you have a system where your entire “job” or task related to the system is to drive traffic to that landing page. You’ll only take time with those individuals that have actually passed the “funded proposal” test.

Ideally, you’d even have a method in place to have those leads contacted by professionals even before you ever got them on the phone. This would eliminate the problems of having to “close the sale” and would truly take the individual out of the equation.

Lastly, in my opinion, the best part about this system is not only the end result of getting sales, but the list building that you’re doing will produce leads that are interested in anything related to working from home, home business opportunities, network marketing, making money online, etc. and YOU OWN the lead.

Assuming 90%+ of all your leads never even make it past the funded proposal test, and the other 10% don’t all become distributors or business owners in your organization, you have a big percentage of those leads that never actually take any action in making you money.

This isn’t a problem when you consider sending another product or service offering to this group via email… remember, you own the leads, so you can market to those leads as long as they stay in your auto-responder and don’t unsubscribe.

With the fact that you own the leads and should be able to market to those leads, the value of each lead from the original reason you got that lead (your main business opportunity) should be well in excess of what you paid to get them (even if you’re bidding upwards of $2 – $3 per click on a network like Google AdWords or Yahoo Search Marketing).

The other great part about this system is that the funded proposal can also be used to offset the cost of the advertising (again assuming you decide to pay for your traffic to your landing page).

So, you can see that the value of a system like this in helping you build your business, manage the time you allot for each of your “leads” and what you can do with the leads that never even buy your opportunity. A system like this would be awesome. Your options are to find a system like this and tweak it to match your product… or custom create your own system. Either way, your ability to use a system like this will great increase the likelihood of your success.

Business is always booming (which it may be, for some) and network marketing as an “industry” always does particularly well in recessionary times. Well, let’s not have history or the facts getting in the way of a positive attitude. But what’s the reality?

There really are more people around at the moment who are looking for a home-based business opportunity. And looking at it only very superficially, one could be forgiven for thinking that must be a good thing. In reality, however, it’s not necessarily so clever. Let’s see why.

The reason there are more people looking for a home-based business opportunity at the moment is that there are more people looking for additional income-sources. Some of them, very reasonably, look at home-based businesses (usually among other things). So there are certainly more prospective business associates at whom one can target one’s advertising and promotion.

Unfortunately, however, the number of people for whom setting up, running and building their own business is really appropriate and beneficial, in the long term, hasn’t actually increased at all. This means that the “prospectors” are necessarily doing one of two things: either they’re doing more “sorting and qualifying work” for the same returns, in terms of pro rata growth-rate (I’d include myself in this group), or they’re sponsoring people they shouldn’t really be sponsoring (as so many are, unfortunately for all concerned).

The effect of the latter is alarming: not only is their time being taken up by recruiting many people who will end up not duplicating the business profitably, get disillusioned and drop out, but that’s also time they can’t use by spending it with the people they actually need, to grow their business in a lasting way, for the future.

There’s also the little matter that many home-based, network marketing, MLM and party-plan companies, just like many other businesses, inevitably go under in a recession. We’re already seeing this now: there’ve been a lot of corporate liquidations and bankruptcies in the industry, over the last year or two.

People under great financial pressures may not, overall, make the most promising distributors for our businesses.

What can we learn from all this, and what can we do about it? I suggest two things for two different groups of people.

Those of us with already-secure, growing businesses should be going the extra mile to “qualify” our prospective associates, and making quite sure they really do have the necessary business-owner mindset as well as adequate start-up capital available (and however small the amount they need, it’s considerably more than the company’s sign-up fee and distributor-kit cost).

And anyone looking around for a company to join should quickly and firmly cross off their list (among others) any new companies, any “pre-launches”, any “ground-floor opportunities” and any companies without demonstrable and growing sales volumes.

These companies, statistically, are a million miles away from being safe to join even in the healthiest of economies (the proportion of them that survive 3 years is frighteningly tiny, whoever’s figures you decide to believe), and right now we’re far from dealing with that sort of financial climate.

This is a time for joining only solid, proven, well established companies whose products are in proven retail demand.

Like any other business, network-marketing programs are effective only if you put in few hours of work with commitment and true involvement. The feeling of earning income is not enough; you must realize that it demands justification.

Working and accomplishing targets can give this justification. Right product combined with right program will make this task simple. But, the million-dollar question is how to identify a network program that works?

There are number of other companies which are little known but have superior product ranges and services. Certain smaller companies have good quality products.

Investing in the right product that suits you right and fetches lucrative amount will enhance your business interest. Such network programs work effectively.

Many times it is noted that simple and direct approach pays you the required yield. It is not necessary that you adhere to norms and conditions of the network marketing. This does not overrule the network program, as this is the main key to make any business successful.

A network program works, if you show your devotion towards marketing. Network marketing also requires to be supplemented with investments like other businesses. This is required to enhance the growth of your business so that you reap the profits. Network program works if you support with essential qualities.

So what might a network marketing income look like, from beginning to, say, three years into your venture? Let’s start at the beginning: first you have to start, and to start any business, you have expenses, or startup costs, as they are commonly known.

Let’s look at the costs of starting: first, there’s the distributor application fee, and with some companies this is zero, but most have a fee and provide a distributor kit, which can run anywhere from $19-$49.

Legally, you do not have to buy any products, but, realistically, if you don’t know anything about them, or even if they work, it will be difficult, at best, to promote them. So, let’s assume that you are serious enough to purchase a product to try, learn about it, and, if and how it works, so that you can endorse it from personal experience, and not just through pamphlets and websites.

Now, that initial order can be varied quite a bit. You can probably do a minimum order, or maybe the company has a promotional one-time entry fee with additional bonus, or monies that might be attached to it, and might vary from $50-$600.

Then you have your monthly commitment, which we commonly refer to, in this industry, as an autoship. And, just like any other business with a monthly cost of doing business, this AutoShip commonly will run between $50-$150 per month, depending on the company. Keep in mind, the larger the monthly AutoShip, the larger the monthly commission per person that is paid to you.

True, these things are expenses, but you must understand that they are also tax deductions, which is valuable and advantageous at tax time. Think about it: what kind of business can you start for perhaps $200 or $300, and then maintain that business, for, maybe, $150 maximum per month-not any other business I can think of. My real estate company cost me many thousands of dollars to start, and I had to produce $9000 in monthly income, just to cover the expenses-before I made a profit-every month.

Network Marketing income begins slowly, partly because you are probably new at it, and, realistically you are just starting. To start a traditional business, statistics indicate a business might not be profitable for three years, on average. I can promise you, if you apply even the minimum amount of effort to your network marketing-income growth you will be well ahead of that timeframe.

Keep in mind, that once you have made your initial investment of products and distributor kit, and now you are on a monthly commitment of only 100 or $150, your monthly income only needs to be $150 to put you at a break-even point, on a monthly basis. So, if you make $200, you are $50 positive cash flow, and in this day and age you are probably making more monthly-money-positive-cash flow, than most Fortune 500 companies.

You can quickly get into positive cash flow with just a few distributors and customers, and if you were to continue to apply some basic daily method of operation, using a proven system, and teaching your new distributors the same system, you would soon find you have developed a very rewarding second income.

I cannot make any income guarantees, nor should I, for two reasons: I don’t know what company might join; and, I don’t know if you will be committed enough to work. However, I would expect that producing even the minimal effort, you should be able to have your product paid for, and generate a positive cash flow within the first 30 days, easily.

I am giving you very conservative numbers, numbers most people in this industry would not want you to think about, but I want to be realistic. This is not a get-rich-quick scheme, it is a business. Sure, many top Networkers set records in this industry in first-month earnings, but that is not the average person. So, realistically, given a part-time effort consistently, I would expect the average person, of reasonable intelligence, of average work ethic, to be earning a minimum of $3-$500 per month within 60 to 90 days, or within 180 days.

In my first venture, my income started slowly at first, but continued to grow until I was making as much from my part-time MLM business, as I was in my full-time real estate business-and that happened within 15 months. But, I worked at it, every day, at least 30 minutes per day.
